MSL (Mega Stars League) is a cricket league founded by world-renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi. But to call it just a cricket league would be an understatement – in a never-before-seen format, MSL combines the country’s love for cricket with the entertainment industry to create an unparalleled “cricketainment” platform.

  • Increased Sponsorship Revenue: Through targeted strategies and enhanced negotiations, we secured sponsorship deals that resulted in a substantial increase in revenue compared to the previous season.

  • Enhanced Viewer Engagement: Implemented digital marketing campaigns and interactive content that boosted online engagement by 40%, leading to higher viewership and fan participation.

  • Operational Efficiency: Streamlined logistics and coordination processes, reducing operational costs by 15% while maintaining high standards of execution and player satisfaction.

The Results

The MSL team originally reached out for help in formulating a proposal for potential sponsors – but after some market and brand research we decided to first strengthen their brand foundations. I polished up their mission and vision statements, core values, and unique positioning – especially highlighting how special and influential cricket is for Pakistanis – to really speak to their strong brand presence and social impact. With this renewed foundation in place, I drafted their well-defined goals for the upcoming season (including what activity areas they are targeting), and why sponsors should participate in the league.

The Copywriting

After the resounding success of their inaugural season in 2022, the MSL team wanted to further elevate their experience for players, celebrities, and fans alike and amplify the league’s impact. And with Season 2 featuring a star-studded lineup of over 120 national cricketers and celebrities, their messaging needed some finessing to match up (pun intended, sorry) with their marketing efforts.
